WirelessGRID WG-300 Network Settings Tab
Article # 392
Title WirelessGRID WG-300 Network Settings Tab
Abstract WG-300 Network Settings Tab - How to Configure Network Settings on a WirelessGRID-300 Outdoor Wireless Network Bridge
This tab is used to enter or update the IP address, subnet, and default gateway settings of a bridge. Important Note:  After changing network settings, write them down in a log so you can find them for future use.

Wired Network Configuration:

IP Address. The IP address for each bridge must be both valid and unique, so please check with the network administrator for the correct IP address to be assigned to this device. The format of an IP address is a 32-bit numeric address written as four values separated by periods. Each value can be zero to 255. Note: The updated IP address will replace the default IP address of the system. After activating your changes with the "Reboot" button, you can access the bridge web interface by specifying the updated IP address.

Subnet Mask. The subnet mask allows networking software to determine which parts of the IP address specify the network address and which parts specify the host address. If your device is using the wrong subnet mask for the network to which you are attached, it will therefore not be able to communicate with all users on that network. The factory programmed subnet mask of the bridge is

Default Gateway Address. IP packets destined for other subnets are automatically sent to the default gateway, which routes the traffic to the correct network. The gateway address must be specified following the same convention as the IP address.

Multicast Filter. Enabling the Multicast Filter will prevent all Multicast packets from being sent out over the radio to any connected bridges. This improves the radio performance when multiple cameras are connected to remote bridges and sending Multicast packets to the base. This function prevents the base station from sending Multicast packets out to all remote bridges. The Multicast packets will be sent out the ethernet connection only. This function is best used if Enabled on the base station only.

Follow these steps to update the Wired Network Configuration:

  1. Update the appropriate fields.
  2. Click Update.
  3. Wait for updating to complete.
  4. Click Reboot to make the changes effective.
